Site Name: Rachel’s Reel Reviews

What is the main focus of your site (reviews, editorials, news, lists, etc.)?
I’m in it for the reviews. Everyone else is giving away their opinion: I might as well.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
I find it has a cathartic effect to write about a movie I’ve watched. Plus, if I can’t remember down the road if I’ve seen one or not, it’ll serve as a reminder. And the bottom line is that I love film and my blog is great hobby.

Do you prefer an interactive ‘community’ for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students?
I welcome any and all tasteful comments. I want discussion and debate.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
April of 2007. I’m almost at my one year anniversary and trying to get 100 film reviews in by then. I usually have at least one review up a week, but recently I’ve upped it to 2 or 3, trying to make my 100 goal by April.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fight Club, Pulp Fiction.

How did you hear about the LAMB?
Blog Cabins had a listing on IMDB’s links of the day, and I just followed the link to LAMB in the sidebar.

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
I always warn if there are spoilers in my review, but I cannot control other’s comments containing spoilers.

I rate on a grading scale of A+ to F. When I was in school, anything below a B- was highly unwelcome in my house, so I grade films almost as strictly.

The hype and reputation of a film can effect my view on it. For example, had I seen Juno without hearing other opinions first, I may have given it an A-, but due to it being grossly over hpyed and billed as the “best movie of the year” by many professional critics, I knocked it down to a B+. I’m tricky that way.

I have a few extras in the sidebar, like upcoming trailers, a random movie poll, movie quote of the week and actor of the month. At the bottom of my page is my ENTIRE movie library, though some films I gained only through marriage and take no responsibility for.
