(Editor’s Note: this site has been shut down. Thanks to Dan for submitting to the LAMB, and pour some out for a fallen homie.)
Site Name: The Every Movie That Counts Blog
Categories: Reviews, consisting mostly of horror films but it’s not a HORROR blog per se.
Rating: PG-13… some foul language, but no images above PG. Children are frail. Like rice cakes.
What is the main focus of your site (reviews, editorials, news, lists, etc.)?
Reviews. Short, sweet and to the point.
What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
I find most reviews are too damn long and the average person is too damn lazy to read something that goes into too much detail. I know I am. Therefore I write them short, for movies new and old, known and unknown. I often just write my immediate thoughts without much editing, thinking too much into it or taking any more than 10 minutes to complete it. If the mood strikes I might write something different from a review. Those take a bit more effort than I’m normally willing to contribute, however.
Do you prefer an interactive ‘community’ for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students?
Interactive. Eventually, should my blog gain any regular readers, I may put together a discussion forum perhaps inspiring more people to come around and talk some crap. Sometimes, when writing a review, I feel like I’m talking to myself. I see all of those “0 Comments” and just break down. I curl into a ball and suck my thumb for about 30 minutes, it’s really no fun at all. Plus my thumb gets all pruney which only makes me feel worse.
How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
I started this particular blog up a couple of months ago, though I’ve had others that I ditched at one point or another. I’ve been updating this one regularly, maybe once every day or two… or three, and find that it’s easy to keep up on given the material I post. I like what I’ve got going here and probably won’t stop anytime soon. I hate quitters.
Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Robocop, Darkman, Waiting For Guffman.
