URL: http://www.thefilmcynics.com/blog Site Name: The Cynical Blog Categories: Reviews, Coming Soon, Random movie ponderings/Editorials, DVDs, trailers Rating: I’d say we try to keep it clean on our site, so PG-13. What is the main focus of your site? The Cynical Blog is the blog for the website for the show for the modern movie watcher. The Film Cynics are a pair of former video store clerks who are now industry pros who want to help people get the most out of their movie watching experience. We offer insight on DVDs new and old, both movies and TV. With our blog, we also try to offer some insight and reviews on new movies an TV shows out there now. Currently on our blog you can find reviews on new releases, some thoughts on current TV shows, discussion on the merits of Star Wars new ventures, links to trailers, and some musings on future movies coming down the pipe. What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog? The original purpose of our blog is as a more of a quick response, constant content component of our larger website. We’re trying to use it as a way of bringing in more traffic, and also for increasing our page rank. As we spend more time working on it, it also seems to be a great way to get in touch with other bloggers and find out what’s going on in the movie world. Do you prefer an interactive ‘community’ for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students? As it stands right now, Brian and I are teachers and our readers are students, but that’s only because we’re not really getting a consistent audience of visitors to leave comments. Once we have more of a regular flow, we hope that our blog will become more of a marketplace of ideas. How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site? We’ve been doing our movie blog for about 3 months now, and we try to post 3 to 4 times a week. Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more). My favourite movies include: City of Lost Children
The Fisher King
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
How did you hear about the LAMB?
I got pointed at LAMB by Sarah Fobes from Sarahnomics.
