The results are in, and the LAMB has picked its Top 10 Westerns (for background on this, click here). There were a total of 34 voters, with their votes spread out amongst 100 films.

Well, the top five dominated here, with a big point spread between fifth and sixth places, and the top film owned the first-place votes category, taking 9 of the 34 available. In a shocking turn, Caddyshack continued to get votes across all genres, placing 14th here. Who knew? Ok, that’s a lie – just making sure you’re paying attention. Though one of the Top 10 Comedies (Blazing Saddles) did place 13th.

Here are your winners (1st place votes in parentheses):

9. (tie) Red River – 44 points from 9 voters (0)

9. (tie) Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid – 44 points from 8 voters (1)

8. Tombstone – 48 points from 10 voters (0)

7. The Magnificent Seven – 55 points from 11 voters (0)

7. High Noon – 70 points from 11 voters (1)

5. The Wild Bunch – 102 points from 16 voters (1)

4. Unforgiven – 105 points from 22 votes (1)

3. The Searchers – 120 points from 19 votes (6)

2. Once Upon a Time in the West – 137 points from 19 votes (6)

1. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly – 155 points from 19 votes (9)

So…how many did you vote for? If you’d like to see yours and all the other votes, scroll down. I’ve added a post with all of them, but have dated it prior to this post so it won’t clutter the page.
Others receiving 1st-place votes: The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, A Fistful of Dollars, Blazing Saddles, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Shane, Seven Men From Now, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid and Alferd Packer: The Musical.

Finally, with 6 votes, Musicals have been chosen as the next genre to tackle. Film Noir and Animation tied for second with 3 votes each. The head scratcher: a vote for “Tennis Movies.” I tell you what – if you can name ten, I’ll seriously consider it. Bowling movies might not be a bad idea, though…

The poll is already up, and will be for two weeks – be sure to read the instructions. Go vote now so I don’t have to hassle you later! Thanks.
