Thanks again to all for nominating, voting, submitting banners, and generally making this a great, drama-free (relatively) year. See you all again for the 2011 LAMMYs next April!

I've already begun devising my diabolical plan to win next year. Going to pull some Professor Fate style moves, and try to concur the voting once and for all!
ReplyDeleteWhat a ride, dude! I've been sending out press-release style emails to all the top dogs around the station and all the distributors I deal with for freebies with news of our 1st runner up status. Beyond the self-esteem boost that we bloggers get from awards like this, it also gives everyone some real credibility to all the outsiders out there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for organising this Fletch, it’s been fun.
ReplyDeleteA thought for next year with only around 15% of LAMBs taking part this time how do we get more of them interested next year when we could have something like a thousand LAMBs out there?
Very cool! Thanks for laying out the stats that way. LAMMYs were great this year, but I wouldn't call them drama free. There was a little bit of drama for moi. Heh. :-)
ReplyDelete"A thought for next year with only around 15% of LAMBs taking part this time how do we get more of them interested next year when we could have something like a thousand LAMBs out there?"
ReplyDeleteIf you or anyone else can figure out the answer to this, I'd be the happiest guy in the LAMB. Mostly, I think it's just a growth problem - the more members the LAMB has, the less involved in a community many feel. Why that would have bearing on voting, I'm not sure, but I think that has something to do with it. Of course, it's also a question of sheer volume - how can one be familiar with (even remotely) 800 or more sites?
There's been talk of having a committee come up with the nominations, but I'm not sure how the logistics of that would work at all.
The problem with a committee is you're asking a handful of people to judge the value of 800+ blogs, probably 400+ of which none of them are really that familiar with.
ReplyDeleteI think the format is fine as is. If we can think of a way to make the nomination process easier, and more in their face, it might speed things up a bit. But that would create an incredible amount of work on the backend for you.
