What is the main focus of your site?
Movie reviews that range from obscure to mainstream. I tend to pay special attention to the characters: how they interact with each other, what goes on in their heads when they face internal and external challenges, and in what ways I can identify with them.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
My goal is to keep track of all the movies I’ve seen and write what I think about them. If someone needs movie recommendations, I want him to be able to go on my website, read my reviews, and have a clear idea of what to expect prior to seeing the movies.

Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students?
I prefer an interactive community. I always appreciate it when people take the time to discuss with me about something they saw that I happened to overlook. I’m also interested when people point out that my approach to a movie is “wrong.” For instance, I could be watching an action movie but I found myself focusing more on the characters’ lack of internal dialogue. To an extent, I can agree that maybe I shouldn’t have approached an action picture that way.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
My website has been active since August 1, 2008. On average, 5 posts per week.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
La meglio gioventù(Marco Tullio Giordana)
The Dreamers (Bernardo Bertolucci)
The Celluloid Closet (Rob Epstein, Jeffrey Friedman)

How long are you going to keep writing movie reviews?

I plan to do it for a very long time. Either that or I die unexpectedly.
