It's time for our 6th LION Award and again don't expect the results to reflect the Oscar nods:

What the f*ck happened??? I don't know about Mara... mimicking/interpreting a character really doesn't impress me that much.

Great list. I'm glad to see Kirsten Dunst is number 3 on here. Appearntly winning at Cannes means you don't get a nomination anywhere else.
ReplyDeleteOk, so far this is the only category where I dislike our list compared to the Oscar nominations.
ReplyDeleteI think, on the whole, I like our list better, I just don't know about Mara as the top choice. She was one of my favorites of the year, but I don't feel like she's deserving of the top spot.

Haha, I think Joel's worded it strangely. In acting you're either giving your "interpretation" or "mimicking".
DeleteI like everyone on this list. Especially Mara, who I thought was great in her role. Surprising to see Binoche, though, but she really was great in Certified Copy.
