Foreign Chops 8: German Expressionism

by Steve · November 15, 2012 · Foreign Chops · 1 Comment

It’s time for the final Foreign Chops category of 2012, and if you’ve read the title, it’ll be no shock that we’re looking at German Expressionism. While the style itself didn’t last too long outside of the silent era, the directors and images certainly influenced generations of directors afterwards. Get a sense of the style here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Expressionism

As always, Foreign Chops will accept up to five links to articles or reviews, either brand new or from your archive, from each site. Links can be sent to sjhoneywell@comcast.net by 6:00 pm, December 5, CST. Foreign Chops publishes on the first Thursday of the month, this time on December 6.

This is also the moment when I tell you that this will be my last edition of Foreign Chops as its editor. This feature needs someone who has the time, patience, and skill it needs to truly be promoted well, and with the start of the next year, that will no longer be me.

  1. Excellent theme to end the year with; and let me be the first to say that you’ve done an excellent job running this feature, and I’m sad to see you go. Thanks for all your effort and time Steve!
