| What is the main focus of your site? | The BackLOG Reviews are unique in that the movie I review is chosen completely at random out of a box filled with movies I own but haven’t seen before or recommendations from fans that I also haven’t seen before. With so many movies coming out, it’s easy to fall behind, so this blog helps me get through that backlog of what I meant to watch and does so in a fun way that’s fun for readers to follow! |
| What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog? | This is a blog that is really about having fun and enjoying movies of all types from all time periods. It’s been running for a few years with a small audience, but I really want to increase the audience this year and just really turn this into something great! |
| Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students? | I love interaction and having a community talking about the movies that come out of the box because for many readers, these are films they’ve seen before, adored, hated, and it’s a lot of fun, especially since I’ll pull a movie from the box and post video of that a few days before the review, so I can get early opinions. |
| How long has this site been active for, and how frequently do you post updates to your site? (Note: sites must be active for at least three months for entry to the LAMB.) | Season 1 of the BackLOG started in 2011 and that was the only full season (100 movies). The two years after were slow going and have only seen a dozen or so reviews, but 2014 plans to bring 4 posts a week (2 video pulls and 2 written reviews). |

(optional) | I started the BackLOG with the hopes of introducing people to movies they might not have seen before and the fun of the fact that it’s random for me and I haven’t seen them either even though they are sometimes “must sees” has been really fun. It is a very unique blog experience and part of the joy is that there’s the risk of a movie getting 1 out of 10, which means that on the next video log, I microwave the DVD for the world to see. 🙂 |
