The 2014 Academy Award nominations were announced last Thursday, January 16, in Los Angeles, which means it’s time to kick off The LAMB’s annual Oscar celebration- The LAMB Devours The Oscars!

All LAMBs are invited to write about one of the 2014 Oscar categories- from Best Actor to Best Score, one of the Best Picture nominees (listed below) or, for the first time, one of the Best Director nominees (also listed below).

So, if you’re a big fan of one of the Best Pictures or Best Directors, this is your chance to pen something celebrating their nomination.

Best Picture

• 12 Years A Slave
• American Hustle
• Captain Phillips
• Dallas Buyers Club
• Gravity 
• Her
• Nebraska
• Philomena
• The Wolf of Wall Street

Best Director

• Alfonso Cuaron – Gravity
• Steve McQueen – 12 Years a Slave
• Alexander Payne – Nebraska
• David O. Russell – American Hustle
• Martin Scorsese – The Wolf of Wall Street

If you’re interested in taking part, fill out the form linked to below with the name of the LAMB or LAMBs involved, an e-mail address to contact you at, your preferred category/Best Picture nominee/Best Director nominee, an optional back-up category that you would like to write about, and- also optionally- any ‘unique qualifications’ your LAMB(s) hold. For example, if you tell us you’re a professional make-up artist, you’re probably a good person to write about the Best Hair/Makeup nominations, or, if you’re an astronaut, tell us why Gravity is so great!
