The last movie of the month was The Wild Bunch, a very male-dominated, testosterone soaked western that only featured women as targets, hookers or human shields, so it’s very fitting that the preceding month sees a very female-dominated movie taking the crown.
Matt Stewart of Simplistic Reviews has won this month with Pitch Perfect, quite possibly the polar opposite of The Wild Bunch, which should therefore make for a highly entertaining discussion which will only occasionally break out into song. Matt is rewarded with hosting duties for the feature discussion on the upcoming Lambcast, so congratulations Matt!
As always, when that Lambcast is posted, any reviews the rest of the LAMB wishes to write about the film will be posted too. Please send in any submissions – new or old – to jaycluitt(at)hotmail.com by 14th March. That day will also see the next poll go up, so if you would like to champion a film for March’s MOTM, be sure to get in touch as well. That month will actually be a very special edition of MOTM, because for the first time ever it will be a Trilogy Special, so instead of voting for individual movies you will get the change to champion or vote for entire trilogies. Exciting, isn’t it? Get your thinking caps on, I’ll be on the lookout for champions soon (and if you want me to vote for you, pick the Toy Story trilogy).
Here are the results of this month’s poll:
Simplistic Reviews will be ineligible to become a Champion for the next three months. Exploding Helicopter has two more months of ineligibility remaining, and Public Transportation Snob has one. Man, I Love Films becomes eligible again with the next poll.
