LAMBCAST #233 1984 MOVIE DRAFT

by Jay Cluitt · August 28, 2014 · LAMBcast, Podcasts · No Comments

We here at the Lambcast are always open to show suggestions from our participants and listeners, so when Todd from Forgotten Films suggested a draft dedicated to the movies of 1984, we jumped at the chance. In case you weren’t aware, Todd has been hosting a blog-a-thon over on his site, for which many other blogs and podcasts have been reviewing or focusing on the movies made 30 years ago.

Host Jay Cluitt joined Todd, as well as Will Slater, Matt Stewart and Pete Conway, to each compete in selecting the best movies from this most interesting of years. The final teams will be posted in a poll in a few days time, at which point you’ll get a chance to vote for whichever you think is the best team, but for now you’ll just have to listen to the show to find out if Will can successfully draft an entire team of films Jay has never seen, will anyone pick Body Double just to get Joel’s vote, and who will end up with Purple Rain?

Also on tap are the Rants and Raves of the week, as well as a 1984-themed game of Last Lamb Standing.

The show can be found, of course, via iTunes – just do a search for “LAMBcast.” Also, I always post a link to the show on the LAMBcast’s Facebook page, and there’s a player there if you’d like to listen online. The direct RSS feed is: http://lambcast.podomatic.com/entry/2014-08-27T15_05_42-07_00.  Shows will eventually make their way to the LAMBcast Archives. If you’d ever like to catch up on back episodes, go there. If you’re interested, you too can be a LAMBcaster – we love new blood! Opening song by Cake. The LAMBcast loves feedback, too – if you’d like yours read on a future show, leave it in the comments section at the LAMB. Please visit and like our Facebook page, and finally, we’re on iTunes, and would still love a review, even if it’s a bad one. Thanks for listening!
