Sometimes the best discussions come from the most unexpected of places, and few places could be more unexpected than the Airport franchise. When it won the Movie of the Month poll, the phrases on everyone’s minds ranged from “How?” to “What is that?” to “Did he typo Airplane?” but it turned out that not only were these films far from a drag to watch, they inspired one of the greatest episodes in Lambcast history.
Even if you’ve got no interest in ever seeing these movies – which, first off, you absolutely should see these movies – don’t you dare miss this episode. Jay and Robert were joined by Airport champion Will Slater, as well as Todd Liebenow and Nick Rehak to discuss the four Airport movies at length, covering the varied highs, many crazy lows and, of course, the joy that is Joe Patroni.
Also on tap: Rants and Raves of the week and a heated game of Last Lamb Standing.
It’s also time to vote on next month’s movie! I put out the call for MOTM Champions, and the responders are below. The gist is this: I ask for volunteers – people to select a film to be placed on the poll, then promote it on their site, Facebook, Twitter, whatever. Should their film win, they are guaranteed a spot on the LAMBcast episode where we will discuss said film. As a bonus (?), if they want they also get to host that segment of the show. The sites are listed along with the films in the poll below (and in the sidebar). You have one week to vote (and promote your movies!). I’ll be putting out the call for the next MOTM in a few weeks, so stay tuned.
The show can be found, of course, via iTunes – just do a search for “LAMBcast.” Also, I always post a link to the show on the LAMBcast’s Facebook page, and there’s a player there if you’d like to listen online. The direct RSS feed is: http://lambcast.podomatic.com/entry/2015-04-09T14_35_06-07_00. Shows will eventually make their way to the LAMBcast Archives. If you’d ever like to catch up on back episodes, go there. If you’re interested, you too can be a LAMBcaster – we love new blood!
