The Movie of the Month for May 2015 is…

by Jay Cluitt · April 21, 2015 · MOTM, MOTM Champions · 2 Comments

The latest Movie of the Month has been decided upon!

Only three movies were put forward for the next Movie of the Month, because presumably no-one wanted to be the one to follow the Airport show. Stardust, Spring Breakers and Princess Mononoke were the only contenders, and this winner is… Spring Breakers.

Congratulations go to The Vern of The Vern’s Video Vortex, who in winning the poll gets a spot on the upcoming Lambcast show devoted to the movie.  There’s still an open Wild Card slot on that show (recording date Sunday May 10th, 9am Pacific, so if you want to discuss the various bikini-clad stars of the movie, then please leave a message in the comments section.

As always, when that Lambcast is posted, any reviews the rest of the LAMB wishes to write about the film in question will be posted too. Please send in any submissions – new or old – to jaycluitt(at) by Monday 11th May. That day will also see the next poll go up, so if you would like to champion a film for June’s MOTM, be sure to get in touch as well.

Here are the results of this month’s poll:

The Vern’s Video Vortex will be ineligible to become a Champion for the next three months. Exploding Helicopter is ineligible for two more months. Forgotten Films has one month of ineligibility left. To The Escape Hatch becomes eligible next month.

  1. The Vern says:

Look at my shit, Look at my shit. Umm I can show you my LaserDisc Collection and how little food I have. That is about it, but thank you everyone that voted.

  2. Elwood Jones says:

Its largely been a weird year for MOTM, but will Jay hate this more than “Southland Tales”? Especially as the plotting for this one is even more sporadic than that film.
Still for a film which was hung on the idea of former Disney kids gone bad it worked out pretty well, even if the soundtrack sucks and generally left me feeling old.
