There’s more than just the Lambcast in the Lamb Podcasting Network and each week I’m here to share some of the other shows worth listening to that have released an episode within the past week, if you’re not subscribed to all of the network shows, make sure you stop by here in case you find something new that you fancy, I will also toss in the occasional news and featured episode. Descriptions of the episodes are taken from the posts themselves.

Also, if you’re a member of the LPN and have any announcements: hiatuses, returns, call for guests feel free to let me know and I’ll feature it on one of these posts. Now, onto the shows!

News

It’s time to welcome another member to the network. Shane and Steven are the two hosts of Father Nerds Best where they talk about quite a bit of everything: TV, WWE, being a father, and of course plenty of movies. Be sure and check them out and give them a warm welcome by listening to their latest episode Dude, Where’s My AC where they talk about Inside Out, Spy, and more.

Walt Sent Me #34

“The Hand That Rocks the Cradle”

Well, after being away on vacation, Todd finally got around to editing the latest episode of Walt Sent Me. This time, Kristen and Todd take a look at Curtis Hanson’s 1992 thriller The Hand that Rocks the Cradle. They also discuss some weird animated babies in the 1935 Silly Symphony short Water Babies.

Forgotten Filmcast #54

“Sergeant Dead Head”

Now that Todd is finally back from his vacation, things are starting to move forward again here on the old blog. Let’s begin with the newest episode of the Forgotten Filmcast! This time we’ll journey into the 60’s with American International Pictures. Todd is joined by Robert Lindsey from Retro Hound to discuss AIP’s 1965 film Sergeant Dead Head.

This is also a very exciting episode as it features our first celebrity guest! Todd welcomes to the show one of the stars of Sergeant Dead Head, Donna Loren, for a brief interview. Donna appeared in many films and TV shows throughout the 60’s and was also known as the Dr. Pepper Girl in a series of ads for the soft drink. She talks a bit about her role in Sergeant Dead Head, as well as some of the other beach party films. And, of course, Todd makes sure to ask her about her famous appearances on two of his favorite shows…Batman and The Monkees. Don’t miss this exciting episode!

Mad, Bad, and Downright Strange Showcase #20

“Dogtooth / Dark City”

Daniel Lackey (The Nightmare Gallery) joins me for this latest episode as look at two of the more obscure titles from the list.

First up we meet the parents with a rather unique approach to parenting in the art house and critic favourite “Dogtooth”. Our second selection sees us heading to a city of eternal night in Alex Proyas’s neo-noir “Dark City”.

All this plus we discuss the movie going experience, movies vs. TV and Hannibal plus much more!

Really Awful Movies #43

“Cyborg”

We’re huge fans of bat-shit insane production company, Cannon Films. Surprisingly, they put out Barfly, in addition to the usual spate of lovable crap like Ninja 3. In the late 80s, bad business decisions brought the once mighty Cannon to their knees. Cyborg, the last Cannon flick to garner a theatrical release, was repurposed, originally having a bigger budget. What we’re left with is a strange, existential, low budget and quite amazing flick.

Hey everyone! A brand new TPMP here for you. This time out, Tank and I review two of the biggest movies of the summer – the triumphant return of the Jurassic Park franchise, “Jurassic World”, and the newest classic from Pixar, “Inside Out”. Along the way we catch up with what we’ve been up to, bemoan our fates in the summer movie draft, and discuss our favorite Pixar characters! Its a great episode, check it out!

Filmwhys #52

“Primer and the Punisher”

Episode 52 of the Why Haven’t You Seen This Film Podcast where my guest is Jason Soto from Your Face! who asks me why I hadn’t seen Primer, one of the most realistic examinations of how time travel might eventually work in the real world. And in return, I ask him why he hadn’t seen the 1989 Punisher starring 80’s action star Dolph Lundgren that never really got released in the US. And in return, he asks me why I hadn’t seen Primer one of the most realistic examinations of how time travel might eventually work in the real world.

The Lair of the Unwanted #108

“Swingin on a Star”

Jason and Nolahn welcome for the first time Shane from The Cinematic Katzenjammer and the Father Nerds Best podcast. They proceed to spend the most time anyone as ever spent talking about “Hudson Hawk” the most infamous Bruce Willis flop from the 90’s. When that eventually ends, Shane takes on The Game of the Unwanted.
