A man is cheating on his wife. A woman is not who she seems. Nosy fellas lose their noses. There’s a plot afoot, and we need to solve it.Jay Cluitt has assembled a crack team of detectives to help him get to the bottom of the mystery that is Chinatown. Joining him are Todd Liebenow, Aaron Neuwirth, Nikhat Zahra and Nicole Ayers to take some covert photographs, leave pocket watches under the cars and generally root around where we’re not wanted. We get into the nitty-gritty of Roman Polanski’s Chinatown, and yes we do go into spoilers, so it’s advised that you watch this film before listening (also because it’s, y’know, pretty good).
Also on tap: Rants and Raves of the Week and a couple of games of Last Lamb Standing. We had a few connection and scheduling issues throughout the shows (there are lots of outtakes for you to enjoy) but in the end it came together well.
Here’s what the rest of the LAMB had to say about Chinatown:
It’s also time to vote on next month’s movie! I put out the call for MOTM Champions, and the responders are below. The gist is this: I ask for volunteers – people to select a film to be placed on the poll, then promote it on their site, Facebook, Twitter, whatever. Should their film win, they are guaranteed a spot on the LAMBcast episode where we will discuss said film. As a bonus (?), if they want they also get to host that segment of the show. The sites are listed along with the films in the poll below (and in the sidebar). You have one week to vote (and promote your movies!). I’ll be putting out the call for the next MOTM in a few weeks, so stay tuned. Next month we’ll be gearing up for the Holiday season by celebrating the joy that is Christmas movies, and there’s quite a selection for you to vote for.
The show can be found, of course, via iTunes – just do a search for “LAMBcast.” Also, I always post a link to the show on the LAMBcast’s Facebook page, and there’s a player there if you’d like to listen online. The direct RSS feed is: http://lambcast.podomatic.com/entry/2015-11-05T23_09_51-08_00. Shows will eventually make their way to the LAMBcast Archives. If you’d ever like to catch up on back episodes, go there. If you’re interested, you too can be a LAMBcaster – we love new blood! For more information on the LAMBcast, check out the topic at the LAMB Forums. Music provided royalty-free by Kevin MacLeod’s Incompetech website. Big thanks to Kevin for providing this service. Opening song by Cake. The LAMBcast loves feedback, too – if you’d like yours read on a future show, leave it in the comments section at the LAMB. Please visit and like our Facebook page, and finally, we’re on iTunes, and would still love a review, even if it’s a bad one. Thanks for listening!
