So the end of August turns out to be a confluence of interesting bumps. Lisa Leaheey champions “the Orphanage” to Movie of the Month Status. Richard is traveling this weekend so he asks Lisa to host the show by herself, since she was going to do most of the hosting anyway. Everything is set until Tropical Storm “Henri” decides to batter the Northeastern U.S. and Lisa is without power or internet connection. Knowing this might be coming, she asks Howard Casner to take over and host in her expected absence. Howard sends the show to Richard, who finally gets back to his homebase, while nearly being run over on the road by refugees from Hurricane Ida. All in all, this month blows!
You know what doesn’t blow? This week’s show, because Howard had Tony Coogan, Todd Liebenow and The Vern as guests to talk about this 2007 Supernatural thriller from Director J.A. Bayona. In spite of being responsible for “Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom”, Bayona was a much honored new director and this film won multiple awards from the Spanish film industry. So How did this film fare with our panel of ghoulish hosts?
Lisa may be surprised at the results of their discussion, but all of you will enjoy listening to their insights. Plus you will get Judy Holiday, Video Nasties, and brief reviews of recent film and TV projects. And to insure that you stick around for the whole show, there is a game that starts off as a rout but ends up as a competitive piece of fun.
