Let’s go ahead and get this out of the way. Clint is 91. That means he is far older than the members of our podcast this week. So any of you out there, thinking of mocking the old guys on this week’s show, keep in mind that we are still whippersnappers to the Man.
Collectively, including the star of the movie, we may have the most mature Lambcast ever assembled, but it’s still a good one.
This week, Richard is joined by Howard Casner, James Wilson, and the youngster Todd Liebenow, for a look at Mr. Eastwood’s 40th feature film directing project. Fifty years after his first time behind the camera, he returns with a film that relishes in his maturity instead of trying to hide it. So in addition to talking about this movie, the guests freely dip into five decades worth of films to discuss both his directorial credentials but his acting chops as well.
There is a consensus that the actors are not well served during some parts of the film, but there is a divergence of opinion on the rest of the story. The script comes in for some scrutiny, and everybody liked the way it looked.
Howard and James do a little cockfighting of their own over the resolution of the story, but in the end we all remain friends. So come join us for a geriatric episode of nick picking complaints, stories about how the old days were much better and some Carl Reiner punching. Really, you’ll have a good time and then maybe you can take that nap.
