Most of us think 1 to 4 is an appropriate amount of dvds/Blu-Rays to ask for this time of year, but I was surprised by the 21% who dare ask for more than 10 on their Christmas wish list. Out of curiosity, how many do you typically receive?
For this next poll, I wanna know how many of you make a trip to the movies on Christmas Day.…
...For those of you who do watch horror films enough to have a preferred decade, that decade is the ’80s, with the ’70s not far behind. And silly me thought the ’70s would easily come out on top. Then again, I’m also part of the 23% that don’t watch enough horror films to know any better.
With the holiday season on our doorstep, I want to know how many dvds/Blu-Rays typically end up on the wishlist...
How very insightful these latest poll results were. Aside from the majority who admitted to not listening to the LAMBcast, all recurring features found equal amounts of love. Make of that what you will.
With Halloween less than two weeks away, I wanna know: What is your favorite decade for horror films?…
...Out of the 25 titles listed in the last poll (several of which have now been released), Drive was the clear favorite upcoming fall/winter film with 17% of the vote. I hope it lived up to all the anticipation for those who have seen it. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (12%) and the American remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (11%) were the only other films to even get double digit votes.
So let’s talk...
It looks like those without Netflix think the rest of us are a bunch of crybabies about the recent price changes. Most of us with Netflix are okay with the price changes and plan on keeping both the dvd and streaming options, while some will choose to drop one or the other. Almost nobody is going to give it the boot altogether.
In time to coincide with the latest LAMBcast episode, I want to know what fall/winter release you’re...
It seems most of us take scores from sites like Rotten Tomatoes into consideration for what films to watch, but they’re not the absolute deciding factor, which is what I assumed. I was surprised at the 27% who ignore them completely.
Next, I want to know what your thoughts are on the recent Netflix price change. It seems to be a mixed bag of anger and apathy. What say you? Will you be keeping with Netflix all the way, dropping...
It looks like enough of us are interested in a dvd swap to take it under consideration as a new LAMB feature. I’ll start planning on a system and details, but if anyone has any ideas or would like to head this up, please let me know in the comments or by email.
This new poll was inspired by a rant on a recent episode of the LAMBcast. Just out of curiosity, what do you think about film review aggregators, such as Rotten Tomatoes?...
Well, it seems the For Your Consideration banners decorating the LAMB during the LAMMY nominations voting were very helpful, or at least entertaining, to most. We had a record-breaking 81 banners this year, up 16 from the 2010 LAMMYs. Thanks to all who sent them in and all the voters who actually took them under consideration.
And now for something new. There have been a few bloggers whom I regularly read discussing their DVD/Blu-Ray...
It looks like most of us will be first in line for the final chapter of Harry Potter this summer. No real surprise there. I’m more surprised at the second place winner Super 8, since I haven’t personally heard much anticipation for. Is this our way of telling Hollywood we’re sick of comic book adaptations?
Next I’m getting back to the LAMMYs. Tell me what you think of the For Your Consideration ads...
The results are in for the latest polls, in which I wanted to know what current LAMMY categories need to go and which ones of years past need to be brought back. With 31% of the votes, Best Random LAMB Banner has been ousted, which makes me a little sad because it is one of the easiest categories to vote in since all the banners can viewed on one page. Coming in second with 22% of the votes was Best Overall Post, which had it not been voted...
As for the...
