PLUG: Essential Performances of the ’90s: Showdown

by Shep. Burman · August 12, 2012 · Plugs · 2 Comments

Andrew here.

With the help of a dozen or so other bloggers I’m proud to announce the launch of a showdown over at my site Encore’s World of Film pitting 64 of the finest performance of the 90s against each other in a quest to find the most essential performance of the decade.

The full bracket can be seen HERE.

Beginning August 11 I’ll be posting 2 games every 12 hours for you to vote on. The games will be accompanied by short blurb by various bloggers defending the inclusion of these performances. (Most of them members of the LAMB.)

It’s not just a members-only discussion, though. In addition to needing YOUR votes to determine the winner when round 2 begins on Sunday 19th, though, I’ll be looking for further participation from you when I turn the tournament into a quasi-blog-athon. Depending on which round 1 performances make it through I’ll be inviting you to defend which of those performances you want to see make it through to round 3 on your respective sites.

So, over the next week and a half I’ll be giving you information on that. But, for now, join me on Friday 11 and for a few weeks into the future to decide which performance of the 90s you consider best. More information on the rules HERE. And just click this link HERE for all the games when they open. Looking forward to your participation, and feel free to include the banner on your own sites.

Got a Press Release, something to Plug, or a Screener available for review (or some combination of the three)? Ok, don’t get all crazy about it. Just click here and give me the details (what, when, where, and a link, for starters) – I’ll handle the rest.
