What is the main focus of your site?
I love to write and I love to watch movies and The Velvet Café is the place where I can combine those passions in a lovely way. Basically my blog is where I hang out and share whatever movie related idea that comes into my mind with people who pass by. Most of my posts are reflections over movies I’ve seen – new releases in the theatres as well as older ones that I borrow from the DVD collection at my local library. But I also write some general musings on film related topics.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
My blog is something I do for my own pleasure – a hobby rather than a job. This gives me the freedom to be as personal as I like to, without feeling any pressure of meeting the expectations from a paying audience.

If I’m trying to gain something from my blog, it’s a better memory. Unfortunately I tend to forget movies I’ve watched very quickly. I have this idea that if I blog about them, it might help me to remember them better.

Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students?
My readers are my teachers and I’m the student to be honest. I’m not by any means a film expert but I love to take part of the wisdom and insight of my visitors through their comments. It really adds a lot and is a big part of why blogging is so rewarding.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
I launched the blog on July 17 2011. My idea is to post about three or four times a week on average.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Lost in Translation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Blade Runner

How did you hear about the LAMB?
Almost every single movie blog I follow is a member of LAMB so I thought I should join the crowd too. It feels lonely to be on the other side of the fence!

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
How would you describe yourself?
I’m a 43-year-old Swedish woman, mother of two, wife, trained journalist (but not working as such), traveler, book reader with a fancy for medieval dancing, mountains and iaido, who also nourishes an old friendship with anything geekish, such as sci-fi, fantasy and adjusting fandoms.
