LAMBScores: From Russia with Love and Vampires

by Nick Powell · December 10, 2012 · LAMBscores · 6 Comments

This week’s edition of the LAMBScores brings one of the year’s “most anticipated” and one of the year’s best. Oh, and there’s that drama based off of a Tolstoy novel. We breakdown the scores for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, Silver Linings Playbook, and Anna Karenina. As always, if you want to join in on the discussion, post your own scores over at the LAMB forums.

Rotten Tomatoes: 4.50 (90%)
IMDB: 4.15 (8.3/10)
LAMB: 4.26 (19)

LAMB Bites:
Two Tickets For...: “A film that wears many hats, maybe to its own detriment, but is bolstered to must-see status by electrifying performances by Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro”
Duke and the Movies: “The film is an optimistic tale back-dropped in a cynical world. It’s a unique and beautiful imagination from David O. Russell that dares to go against the consensus of pessimism with wondrous cinematic expression: it loves, lives, feels, and embraces imperfection and defies normalcy.”
The Sanity Clause: “By getting in your face and putting everything on the surface, O. Russell surprises ewe when we learn the characters have depth and that all their disabilities matter to the plot. The style is often clumsy and awkward, but oh so right and fun in terms of capturing the feel of this disability.”

Nice score for Silver Linings Playbook! Time to update the top 10? Silver Linings, Lincoln and Skyfall should all be in there.
