Announcement: The First Official UK LAMB Meetup is Coming!

by Jay Cluitt · March 30, 2015 · Announcements, Events · 2 Comments

Hi folks. As many of you will be aware, the LAMB is an international community spread across every corner of the globe, but as yet the only “official” meet-ups (as in, ones documented on the LAMB site) have taken place in the USA, firstly in Vegas and then last year in Chicago. Well, in 2015 that’s all going to change, because come October there’ll be a bunch of Brits who haven’t met each other before, having drinks in a pub and probably going to see a movie. We’re going to London!

On select nights from Sept. 20 to Nov. 2, guests? worst nightmares will be unleashed as evil takes root at Universal Orlando?s Halloween Horror Nights 23. Universal Orlando?s award-winning Halloween Horror Nights event transforms Universal Studios Florida into a realm of movie-quality haunted houses, incredible live shows and streets filled with hundreds of horrifying ?scareactors.?

So far the proposed date is the weekend of October 3rd/4th, with the emphasis on Saturday 3rd featuring the meetup-proper. A trip to the Prince Charles Cinema has been suggested, although their October schedule has yet to be posted, so we’ll wait until a little nearer the time to announce the full plans. Current interest has been shown by Elwood (From the Depths of DVD Hell), Will (Exploding Helicopter), Lindsay, Jess & Rob (French Toast Sunday), David (Blueprint: Review) and Jay (Life vs Film / Lambcast host / the guy writing this), and any other attendees are more than welcome to, um, attend, and please feel free to shout out some potential things we could do whilst we’re there.

There’s a comment thread over in the forums: http://thelambforums.proboards.com/thread/2964/uk-lamb-meetup or you can suggest some stuff here in the comments. If you’re interested in coming, know another LAMB member who might be, or have any suggestions for events, activities and places to visit (suggestions for pubs that do great cheeseburgers will be gratefully received, but they better be good), please let us know.

I hope to meet you all soon!
