There’s more than just the Lambcast in the Lamb Podcasting Network and each week I’m here to share some of the other shows worth listening to that have released an episode within the past week, if you’re not subscribed to all of the network shows, make sure you stop by here in case you find something new that you fancy, I will also toss in the occasional news and featured episode. Descriptions of the episodes are taken from the posts themselves.

Also, if you’re a member of the LPN and have any announcements: hiatuses, returns, call for guests feel free to let me know and I’ll feature it on one of these posts. Now, onto the shows!

Walt Sent Me #35

“Johnny Tremain”

Just in time for the 4th of July, we cover a patriotic film on the latest episode of Walt Sent Me. This time we look at Disney’s 1957 look at the birth of the American Revolution, Johnny Tremain. We also discuss the 1943 debut of Chip and Dale in Private Pluto.

Across the Universe #47

“Road Trip Movies”

It’s time to pack your suitcase and jump into a cinematic (and – sadly – fictional) car with the chicks and special guest Jay Cluitt. One of the most loyal (and only?) listeners of this podcast, Jay travelled all the way from England to our Skype conversation just to be rudely questioned and told that his opinions on movies are wrong. However, along the road we all found together and raved about the intense pleasure we all derive from the peculiar genre of road movies. This episode also features the T-Rex from Jurassic Park and Britney Spears.

Really Awful Movies #45

“Darkman”

Darkman is a 1990 superhero flick directed and co-written by Sam Raimi. It is based on a short story Raimi wrote that paid homage to Universal’s horror of the 1930s. We discuss similarities to Batman, happy endings and the dark spirit of its aesthetic. This film is early in Liam Neeson’s career. He was not the first choice for Dr. Westlake. They considered Bill Paxton (not to be confused with Bill Pullman!). Raimi felt Neeson was the right fit to show the monster’s soul. The film also features Larry Drake as the villain. He’s best known for Dr. Giggles and many other roles.
